An effective social media strategy for your hip hop career can take things to the next level. However, it can be difficult to determine how to get from point A to point B when you are already swamped enough trying to write new music and record new tracks. Ready to elevate your social media game without a bunch of extra stress? Here are some of our best tips.
Asking the Right Questions
Your fans like you and your music, so they want to give you feedback and offer their opinions to you. Many rappers and hip hop artists struggle to figure out what to post because they aren’t sure what their fans want to see (or how to ask them what they want to see!). Asking the right questions will lead to answers that you can actually use to inform your current and future social media strategy
Creating a Fan Survey
When you are considering using a fan survey to get a grasp of what your most enthusiastic supporters are all about, you should always start with a clear question. In general, shorter and clearer questions will get better response rates. That being said, if you are asking a more complex question that requires content to understand, there is nothing wrong with going into detail. You should also include a very pointed Call to Action (CTA) as part of your fan survey. You should never simply pose a question and assume that fans will answer of their own accord.
What Are the Right Questions to Ask?
What are some of the most effective questions that you could ask fans on social media?
- What playlists would you add my music to?
- What artists do I remind you of?
- Where do you love to play my music?
- What artists could you see me going on tour with?
- What artists would you love to see me collaborate with?
- Do you currently make or maintain playlists on a social listening platform like Spotify?
- What song should I cover next?
- What would you like to see more of on my social media?
